Arty Girlz weekly challenge #47 NO patterned paper

This weeks challenge on Arty Girlz is 'no patterned paper' don't panic too much because this doesn't mean that you can't make your own patterned paper using stamps or doodling or from other resources etc it just means NO shop bought designer patterned paper so pop on over to Arty Girlz to join in with the challenge.

Julie and I asked sandy if she wanted to be our Guest designer this week and she said yes so if you would like to see what sandy has done pop over to Arty Girlz or Sandy's blog HERE.

Here's what i did and there,s no paper or card in sight. When i was a way last week i went to a great shop in sittingbourne and in the haberdashery dept they had a basket with crafters material remnants for 99p a bag so i picked up 2 lots. This was made from one of them.

I cut a piece of the canvas material to fit a piece of mount board. then used my sizzix to cut out a large flower and 2 small ones and layered them up and used a bead in the center.

The leaf was cut out from the pattern in the material. I did an image transfer on to cotton of Audrey Hepburn and layered that on to more of the brown silk material, folded the corner and added a bead. cut another piece of the canvas frayed the edges and layered the image on to that.

Rolled another piece of the material and stitched it to hold the roll then sewed the trim (also in the bag) to the back of that .

Assembled everything and stitched into place. added wadding to the back then put it on to the mount board. I used a piece of velvet brown thong for a hanging loop.

Its a very touchy feelie piece and i wanted to keep the frayed edges on everything to add to the effect.
The photo is a bit rubbish as it was dark when i took the pic its much better in real life honest LOL

This is a notice board made using an old picture frame, i painted it purple, added patterned paper to the center then pinned chicken wire to the front added flowers and ribbon to the edge's put 3 brss hooks on the bottom and tied a long length of ribbon round them, and used mini pegs to hold my memo cards in place.

For this card i layered purple and lilac card stock stamped the image in lilac added little jems to the flower centers. Threaded the ribbon through the ribbon slide which i also received and attached it to the bottom of the card.

For this card i glued 3 blossoms to the card blank cut out 3 flower pots and trimed so me ribbon to trim the tops. Then added a piece of ribbon along the bottom for the pots to sit on, drew faux stitches for the flower stems and around th edge of the card. added jems to the flower centers and put a rubon sentiment on the 3rd pot.

I used the Atc frame kit for this one but left of the back section. I used my soldering iron tool to burn the pattern in to the wood and used one of the images of the Indian girl in the frame. twisted wire to make the hanging loop and drilled small hole in the frame to fix it on also did this at the bottom to add the Believe charm

for the box below i used medium sized round box painted it gold then over painted in white while it was tacky i used a crackle medium over the top for the aged crack look then cut out the transparent image and fixed her to the box you can s the crack through it looks kinda cool then rubbed the silver charm with gold paint and fixed it to the box.

I covered a frame and inside with pages from a french story book and then did i wash of blue all over printed my picture tore it around the edges stuck it inside the frame and then washed the blue round the edges to blend it in.
I used florist wire and twisted 2 pieces together for my wire decoration around the edges also made the charm pieces by cutting out egg shapes on the the text paper and covering it with crackle accent when dry bent the wire round and glued in place. printed and cut the birds out and put them on the frame and the inside of the frame .
